Nicole Polizzi

Nicole Polizzi,

(born November 23, 1987), publicly known by her nickname Snooki, is an American television personality. She rose to prominence in late 2009, when she began appearing on the MTV reality show Jersey Shore, alongside others. The series follows Polizzi and her roommates while they live on the Jersey Shore in a group house.

Early life

Nicole Polizzi was born in Santiago, Chile.Polizzi is Chilean, but was adopted and raised by Italian American parents. Her nickname, Snooki, was given to her by her friends in middle school, and is based on the character "Snooki the cootchie crook" from the film Save the Last Dance because she was the first of her friends to make out with a boy. During Polizzi’s high school years she suffered from an eating disorder, which she has since overcome. She feels that the pressure of maintaining her position on her high school cheerleading squad was one of the primary contributing factors that led to her anorexia.

Public appearances

Polizzi presented an award at 2010 CMT Music Awards  and has also appeared on Jay Leno.

On July 27, 2010, the cast of The Jersey Shore appeared at the New York Stock Exchange and Polizzi rang the opening bell.

]Is She Really Going Out With Him?

MTV first introduced Polizzi in the first season of "Is She Really Going Out With Him", a show that tells the story of "sweet girls" and the "douchebags" they date. Season 1, Episode 14 tells the story of Nicole and Justin the "Jerz Pud".

Polizzi then entered the reality TV scene on the season premiere of the show Jersey Shore which first aired on MTV December 3, 2009.

Polizzi also has two video channels on YouTube. Her Nikky406 channel features content from her high school and post-high school days. This channel is no longer being updated. SnookTV is Polizzi's current YouTube channel. It is updated regularly and contains content from her personal life.

James Madison University

On March 3, 2010, Polizzi had a scheduled appearance at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. While the cast had made other appearances throughout the United States and Canada, the event was billed as Polizzi's first university appearance. The event was sold to capacity within three days but sparked major controversy on the campus, prompting hateful comments on the event's Facebook page. The university's program board disabled the event's wall stating, "The conversation on the Facebook wall went from beneficial to inappropriate and unfortunate." The interview was eventually held as scheduled.

Personal life

Nicole Polizzi lives in Marlboro, New York.

Polizzi was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct on the afternoon of July 30, 2010 in Seaside Heights, the New Jersey beach town where the MTV show is based, after beachgoers reported she was bothering them. She was issued a summons and released the same day.

Lenoir was first spotted by Ford Models when she was 16 years old. In 2001, Lenoir signed with L'Oréal, and has since appeared in their advertisements alongside Laetitia Casta and long-term model and actress Andie MacDowell. She has also worked for Victoria's Secret, Gap, Next, and many others. Lenoir was until recently the face of UK high-street retailer Marks & Spencer , and was seen in various British magazines and billboards alongside fellow models Twiggy and Laura Bailey. Lenoir is featured in the music video for Usher's single Hey Daddy.

Personal life

Lenoir was born in Les Ulis, Essonne, France. Her mother comes from the French Island of La Réunion and has Malagasy ancestry and her father is a retired white French electrician who later divorced her mother.[2] Her family moved first to Gif-sur-Yvette and then to Versailles where she was discovered and started her career in modeling. After a relationship with rapper Stomy Bugsy, she lived with international football player Claude Makélélé of Paris Saint-Germain. They have a son named Kelyan Makélélé (born 2 February 2005). The couple split in early 2009. Despite widespread reports Lenoir was married to Makélélé, she wrote a blog in 2009 clarifying their former relationship, saying: 'I’m not and have never been married. I do have a son. I have a wonderful baby’s father and have a great relationship with him, however I’ve been single for some time now.'

On 09 May 2010, Lenoir was found unconcious after a suspected suicide attempt in a park near her Paris home by a man walking his dog. She was rushed to hospital where large quantities of drugs and alcohol were found in her system.
