Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Anne Hudgens[2] (born December 14, 1988) is an American actress and singer. As an actress, she guest starred in television shows like Quintuplets, Still Standing, The Brothers García, Drake & Josh, and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Hudgens made her screen debut in the 2003 drama film Thirteen as Noel. She got her first starring role in the 2004 science-fiction-adventure film Thunderbirds as Tintin.
Hudgens garnered prominence with her portrayal of the fictional character Gabriella Montez in the High School Musical series. She earned critical acclaim for her role in the 2009 film Bandslam. Hudgens's debut album V was released on September 26, 2006. The album entered the Billboard 200 at number twenty four, and was later certified Gold. Hudgens released her second album, Identified, on July 1, 2008 in the U.S.

Early life and career

Hudgens was born in Salinas, California, and lived all over the West Coast – from Oregon to Southern California – with her parents, Gina (née Guangco), who held a succession of office jobs, and Gregory Hudgens, a firefighter. She was raised Roman Catholic and she has a younger sister, Stella Hudgens, who is also an actress. Hudgens is of mixed cultural background, as her father is of Irish and Native American descent, and her mother, a native of Manila, is of Chinese-Filipino-Spanish descent. All of Hudgens's grandparents were musicians.
Starting at the age of eight, Hudgens performed in musical theater as a singer, and appeared in local productions of Carousel, The Wizard of Oz, The King and I, The Music Man, and Cinderella, among others. Two years after her career in stage plays and musicals, she started auditioning for commercials and television shows, and her family moved to Los Angeles after she won a role in a television commercial. Her acting career started at the age of 15, and she was not able to finish high school in Orange County High School of the Arts, after being home schooled by tutors.

2003-2008: Career beginnings

In 2003, Hudgens played a minor role in the independent drama film Thirteen, where she plays Noel, a friend of a lead character (Tracy, played by Evan Rachel Wood). The film was critically successful, receiving generally favorable reviews, and its receipts surpassed its $4 million budget. Hudgens subsequently landed a role in the 2004 science fiction-adventure film Thunderbirds as Tintin. Unfortunately, the film was commercially and critically unsuccessful, and received heavy criticism through the Internet prior to its release. By late 2005 Hudgens had appeared in television shows such as Quintuplets, Still Standing, The Brothers García, Drake & Josh, and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

In late 2005 she landed her breakout role of shy and meek Gabriella Montez in High School Musical, opposite to Zac Efron. Her performance received numerous nominations and awards. With the success of the film, the BBC predicted that Hudgens would be a "household name" in the US.
Hudgens received a recording contract with Hollywood Records. On September 2006 her debut album entitled V was released. It charted on the Billboard 200 at number twenty-four,and was certified Gold on February 27, 2007.Her first single, "Come Back to Me" became her highest-charting single. Her second single was "Say OK". Billboard readers chose "V" as the seventh best album of the year. Hudgens was named Female Breakout Singer of the year at the 2007 Teen Choice Awards.
Hudgens also participated in the nationwide High School Musical: The Concert tour in fall 2006, performing the songs from the soundtrack album as well as the three songs from her debut album. She sang the duet "Still There For Me" with Corbin Bleu for his debut album. In 2007, Hudgens reprised her role as Gabriella Montez in the sequel of High School Musical, High School Musical 2. Virginia Heffernan of TV Review described Hudgens in her performance in the movie as "matte" as she "glows like a proper ingénue". In December 2007, she sang to George Bush, who was then the president of the U.S., and his family, at The National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. with other singers at a Christmas event.
Hudgens reprised her role as Gabriella Montez in High School Musical 3: Senior Year. Her performance in the film made her win favorite movie actress in the 2009 Kids Choice Awards. Her sophomore album, Identified, which received generally favorable reviews,[29] was released on July 1, 2008, debuting at #23 on the Billboard 200. The album's lead single was "Sneakernight". Hudgens's Identified Summer Tour began on August 1, 2008 and ended in early September 9 of the same year.

2009-present: Critical success

Post-High School Musical, Hudgens remarked that she will focus in her acting and films, while "taking a break" from her music career as a solo artist. She played a supporting role in a musical comedy Bandslam, which was released theatrically on August 14, 2009. Hudgens plays "Sa5m", a 15-year-old awkward freshman with untapped talents. Although Bandslam was commercially unsuccessful, Hudgens's performance received praise from critics. David Waddington of the North Wales Pioneer noted that Hudgens "outshines the rest of the cast, failing to fit in with the outcast narrative and making the inevitable climactic ending all the more expected," and Philip French of The Guardian compared her acting to Thandie Newton and Dorothy Parker.
Hudgens performed a musical number with other artists during the 81st Academy Awards. On April 8, 2009, Hudgens's participation in a comedic short video entitled "Zac Efron's Pool Party" for the website Funny Or Die was released for public viewing. Hudgens later provided voice roles in Robot Chicken.
Hudgens' involvement in Beastly, a film based on Alex Flinn's novel of the same name was announced in early 2009. She will be playing one of the main characters in the film as Linda Taylor, described by Hudgens as the "beauty" of the story but not the stereotypical beauty everyone thinks of. Along with Beastly co-star, Alex Pettyfer, Hudgens was recognized as ShoWest stars of Tomorrow. Hudgens was later cast in an action film directed by Zack Snyder, Sucker Punch, playing Blondie, an institutionalized girl in the asylum, which will release in March 2011.
After so many years, Hudgens will return to theater productions wherein she will star in the musical Rent as Mimi. The stage production will run from August 6–8, 2010 at the Hollywood Bowl. Her involvement in the production drew negative comments, but director Neil Patrick Harris defended his decision with casting Hudgens by saying, “Vanessa [Hudgens] is awesome. She’s a friend. I asked her to come in and sing to make sure she had the chops for it. And she was very committed and seemed great.”"

In 2006, Hudgens's earnings were estimated to be $2 million.Hudgens was included in Forbes richest list in early 2007, it was posted in Forbes website, that Hudgens was included in Young Hollywood's Top Earning-Stars.On December 12, 2008, Hudgens was ranked #20 in the list of Forbes "High Earners Under 30", having reported to have an estimated earnings of $3 million in 2008.

Hudgens is also featured in A Very Special Christmas Vol.7 disc which benefits the Special Olympics.

Controversies

Nude photos
On September 6, 2007, photos of Hudgens appeared online, one showing her posing in lingerie and another showing her nude. A statement from her publicist claims that the photo was taken privately and it was unfortunate that they were released on the Internet. Hudgens later apologized, saying that she was "embarrassed over the situation" and regretted having "taken [those] photos." Hudgens has since released a statement that she doesn't want to talk about the scandal.
OK! magazine speculated that Hudgens would be dropped from High School Musical 3 when naked photos of Hudgens surfaced the Internet in late 2007. The Walt Disney Company denied the reports, saying, "Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment. We hope she's learned a valuable lesson."
In August 2009, a new set of pictures showing Hudgens topless emerged on the Internet. Hudgens's representatives have yet to make an official statement. Lawyers have requested the removal of the pictures from the Internet. In late 2009, Hudgens sued "www.moejackson.com" for posting Hudgens's nude 'self-portrait photographs' taken on a mobile phone in a private home.
Hudgens later commented on the photos' impact on her career in the October issue of Allure with, "Whenever anybody asks me, would I do nudity in a film, if I say that it's something I'm not comfortable with, they're like, 'Bullshit, you've already done it.' If anything, it makes it more embarrassing, because that was a private thing. It's screwed up that someone screwed me over like that. At least some people are learning from my mistake."

Lawsuits
Brian Schall sued Hudgens last 2007 for an alleged "breach of contract"; according to the suit, Schall claims he advanced costs and expenses on Hudgens’s behalf for her songwriting and recording career.Schall claims Hudgens owes him $150,000 after helping her earn more than $5 million for her music career. Hudgens argues that she was underage to sign her contract on October 2005 as she was just 16 then.
Hudgens subsequently disaffirmed it on October 9, 2008. Papers filed in court by her lawyer say California's Family Code "provides that the contract of a minor is voidable and may be disaffirmed before (age 18) or within a reasonable time afterward."
In 2008, Hudgens was sued by Johnny Vieira, who claims he is owed a share of Hudgens' advances, royalties and merchandising revenue in exchange for his management services. Vieira accuses Hudgens of abandoning her talent team as soon as she became a commercial name in the High School Musical era.[84] In early May 2009, the case was settled.

Goh Keng Swee

Dr. Goh Keng Swee (Christian name: Robert, simplified Chinese: 吴庆瑞; traditional Chinese: 吳慶瑞; pinyin: Wú Qìngruì; 6 October 1918 – 14 May 2010) was born in Malacca and was the second Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore.
Goh was a son of a rich Malacca family. Although his father, Goh Leng Inn, was a manager of a rubber plantation, his mother was from the family that produced famous Malaysian politicians Tun Tan Cheng Lock and his son, Tun Tan Siew Sin, who would someday be Goh's lifelong political opponent.
After studying at Anglo-Chinese School (ACS) in Singapore, Goh went on to graduate from Raffles College (today the National University of Singapore) with a Diploma in Arts, and entered the Civil Service to focus on social welfare issues. Shortly after the start of the Second World War, Goh joined the Singapore Volunteer Corps, a local militia, but after the fall of Singapore he returned to his previous work. In 1946, he joined the Department of Social Welfare, and was active in post-war administration. During the Japanese occupation in 1942, Goh married Alice Woon and they had a son.
Following the Second World War, Goh won a scholarship, which enabled him to pursue a degree at the London School of Economics (LSE). Goh graduated with first class honours in economics and with the help of a University of London scholarship, awarded in 1951, was able to continue with doctoral studies. Goh completed his Ph.D. in Economics in 1954, and returned to the Department of Social Welfare, where he served as the Director of the Social and Economic Research Division.
During his time in London, Goh met fellow students who were seeking independence for Malaya, including Lee Kuan Yew and Toh Chin Chye. A student discussion group, the Malayan Forum was organized with Goh as the founding chairman. Following his return to Singapore, Goh detached himself from active politics, but retained ties to the People's Action Party (PAP), of which he was a member. In August, 1958, Goh resigned from the Civil Service to work full-time for the (PAP), and was a key member of the Central Executive Committee. He was later to become its vice-chairman. On a PAP ticket, Goh successfully contested the Kreta Ayer seat in the 1959 Legislative Assembly elections, and joined the first government of Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew as Minister of Finance. In this role, he was to assume stewardship of Singapore's economy, and in the following decade, Goh was to serve as the chief architect of the country's economic development. He came to believe that capitalist principles, properly nurtured, were efficacious to the generation of wealth. Hon Sui Sen succeeded him as the Finance Minister in 1970.
In the 1960s, there were great pressures from communist agitators working through the Chinese-medium schools and trade unions. Divisions existed within the PAP as well, with the pro-communist faction working to wrest control of the party from the moderate wing, of which Goh and Lee Kuan Yew were key members. A key source of division was the issue of merger with Malaya, to form a new state of Malaysia. Goh and the moderates believed that this was a necessary condition of Singapore's economic development because Malaya was a key economic hinterland; merger would also provide an alternate vision against communism for Singapore's Chinese majority. In July 1961, sixteen members of the pro-communist faction broke away from the PAP to form the Barisan Sosialis, and captured control of the main trade unions.
The Singaporean government won approval from Tunku Abdul Rahman for a merger in 1961, with the Tungku being motivated by a desire to stabilise the security situation in Singapore, and notably to neutralize the perceived communist threat. Singapore merged with Malaya and the British Borneo states in 1963 to form the Federation of Malaysia. Merger however proved to be problematic for the Singaporean leaders. There was a clash of fundamental principles, both political and economic; notably on the issue of Malay dominance. Communitarian violence in 1964 was inflamed in Singapore by Malay and Chinese activists. Goh played a crucial role in orchestrating the subsequent secession of Singapore from the federation in August 1965. He would later claim this was the "best thing that ever happened to Singapore".
Upon independence in 1965, Goh also became Minister for the Interior and Defence until 1967, assuming responsibilities for strengthening Singapore's military and domestic security capabilities. A key policy was the creation of National Service, a mandatory conscription system for able-bodied young males. In 1979, Goh moved on to the Education Ministry, where his Goh Report greatly influenced the development of Singapore's education system, introducing key policies such as streaming and religious education.
Goh retired as Deputy Prime Minister in December 1984, due to personal reasons.
The former DPM Goh Keng Swee passed away in the early morning of Friday, 14 May 2010, at the age of 91. According to a press release by the Government of Singapore, the body of the late Dr. Goh Keng Swee would be accorded a state funeral on 23 May 2010.

Javier Zanetti

Javier Adelmar Zanetti, (born 10 August 1973) is an Argentine footballer who plays for Serie A club Internazionale. Javier Zanetti has played for Inter since 1995, taking the captain's armband in 1999. Known for his versatility, he is adept on both the left and right wing, having played on both flanks as a fullback as well as a winger. He slots into several midfield positions with ease, particularly as a defensive or central midfielder. Internationally, he holds the record of the most capped player in the history of the Argentine national team and has played in the 1996 Olympic tournament and in two World Cups, in 1998 and 2002.
Known as "Pupi" in Argentina, Zanetti was born in Buenos Aires, picking up the nickname "Il Trattore" (The Tractor) soon after his move to Italy where his strength, resilience, stamina, and his ability to run past opposing defenders when joining the attack from his right back position earned him notoriety. More recently, he plays in the right midfield. He ended a 4-year goal drought when he scored on 5 November 2006.[2] In the national team, he is deployed as a right back but is able to switch between defense and attack easily.
Zanetti has won four Serie A titles with Inter, having earned the nickname "Il Capitano" (The Captain) among the fans and media since taking captaincy at Inter. He holds the record for the highest all-time appearances by a non-Italian born player for an Italian club, with over 600 official matches for the club, 500 of which were in the Italian Serie A.
Zanetti, who plans to retire with Inter and continue to work with the club thereafter, is also noted for his charity work, running a foundation to benefit disadvantaged children in Argentina. He has been named an ambassador for the SOS Children's Villages project in Argentina by FIFA, and in 2005, he received the Ambrogino d'Oro award from the Milan townhall for his social initiative.

Early life

Javier Adelmar Zanetti was born in Buenos Aires and grew up in the harbour area in the Dock Sud district. He combined schooling and working commitments, helping his bricklayer father in masonry alongside delivering milk, and working in his cousin's grocery store without neglecting his passion for football. He began playing football on a field in the city suburbs, maintaining the pitch in his spare time.

Club career
Talleres
Zanetti, after being rejected by the youth division of Argentina's Independiente, he signed for Talleres de Remedios de Escalada (a second division team at the time) but moved in 1993 to the Argentine First Division club Banfield.

Banfield
A 20-year-old Zanetti debuted for Banfield on 12 September 1993 in a home match against River Plate. He scored his first goal 17 days later against Newell's Old Boys in a match that ended 1-1. His outstanding performances for Banfield gained popularity from El Taladro fans and also earned him a call-up from the national team. First division giants River Plate and Boca Juniors came knocking but Zanetti decided to stay on for another year at the club. In 1995, along with fellow Argentine Sebastián Rambert, he transferred to Italy's Internazionale, becoming team owner Massimo Moratti's first-ever purchase.

Internazionale

Javier Zanetti
He made his debut for Inter on 27 August 1995 against Vicenza in Milan. Throughout his stay with the club, he has won eleven trophies: the UEFA Cup in 1998 – scoring the second goal for the final with a shot outside the penalty area –, the 2005, 2006 and 2010 Coppa Italia, the 2005, 2006 and 2008 Italian Super Cup, and the 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 Scudetto. He scored the decisive penalty kick to help Inter win the 2008 Italian Super Cup.
Zanetti's qualities have earned him respect on and off the field. He is sometimes criticised for being too soft-spoken on the pitch, but he makes up for this by being one of Inter's most consistent, reliable, and trusted players. As such, he was rewarded with the club captaincy, taking over from legendary defender Giuseppe Bergomi. Being a part of the squad for the last 13 seasons and with over 600 appearances, he is currently the team's longest-tenured player, and the second overall behind Bergomi (758) in the all-time list of most capped Inter players. To Inter fans, Zanetti is one of the greatest players to have ever worn the colors of the black and blue. He celebrated his 600th cap for Inter in style with a 1-0 win over newly promoted Lecce. Minutes before the match, he was presented with a commemorative plate by vice-captain Iván Córdoba to mark the special occasion.
Since the arrival of Maicon at the beginning of the 2006-07 season, Zanetti was moved from the right back position into midfield and left-back. He ended a 4-year goal drought when he scored on 5 November 2006[2] at a home match against Ascoli, having previously scored on 6 November 2002 at an away match against Empoli. On 27 September 2006, against Bayern Munich, Zanetti played his 500th professional match for Inter and on 22 November 2006, he appeared in his 100th UEFA match against Sporting Clube de Portugal.

Javier Zanetti
As of 2010, Zanetti has not received a red card in more than eleven years. The last time he was sent off was on 17 February 1999 in a Coppa Italia match against Parma. Zanetti said:
"I haven't argued with Referees, but I was very disappointed when Braschi showed me my first red card in the game against Parma a few years ago. I had nothing to do with it and he sent me off."
At Inter, Zanetti has had 15 different coaches (list), making him the only player to have played under this many coaches. His current contract with Internazionale runs until 2010. The captain has pledged his future to the Nerazzurri, hoping to have a future behind the desk at the club once he hangs up his boots after he quits playing. "Inter means a lot to me," Zanetti said,
"It was the first team to open the doors of European football. I was very young when I came here and I think not many teams could have had so much faith and patience with a boy in his early 20s from the very first day like Inter did with me. I will always be grateful for that. For some reason I have always felt at home here at Inter and this is why I have never thought of leaving."
Though Zanetti is more often classified as a defender, he has played in the midfield for most of the first half of the 2008-09 season. For the last several weeks of October 2008, with Portuguese coach José Mourinho facing a midfield crisis due to injuries to key midfielders Esteban Cambiasso and Sulley Muntari, he was moved again to the midfield for the matches against Genoa and Fiorentina. Since then, Mourinho has played him in the midfield due to the preference of Maicon, Lúcio, Wálter Samuel, and Cristian Chivu in the back four.
The 2009-10 season began well for Zanetti and Inter, especially after a 4-0 thrashing of crosstown rivals in the Milan derby. In the 17 October match against Genoa, he started off the counterattack that led to Inter's second goal after dispossessing a Genoa player. Inter became the first team of the season to win by a 5-goal margin. On 24 October, he reached Giacinto Facchetti's record of 476 Serie A appearances when he turned out for the match against Catania, which ended in a 2-1 win for the Nerazzurri. He also currently holds a club record of 149 consecutive appearances.

International career

Zanetti debuted for Argentina on 16 November 1994 against Chile under coach Daniel Passarella. He has since represented his country at the 1998 and 2002 FIFA World Cups. He was also part of the team that won the silver medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, USA.
In the 1998 World Cup run, he neatly finished off a Diego Simeone free kick in the round of 16 match against England making the score 2-2. Argentina went on to win 4-3 on penalties but lost the quarter-final match to the Netherlands.
Zanetti played for Marcelo Bielsa's Argentine national team in the 2002 World Cup. However, they finished 3rd in their group, despite winning the opening match.
Zanetti celebrated his 100th cap by helping Argentina win their 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup semi-final over Mexico on 26 June 2005, in which he won the Man of the Match award.
After having been part of the team during the qualification rounds, Zanetti was not called up for the 2006 FIFA World Cup by coach José Pekerman in a controversial decision.
Instead, Lionel Scaloni was given a surprise selection, a move that bewildered many fans and media.
"I don't know if there are any footballing or non-footballing reasons. But I can sleep peacefully because I have given so much to my national team, and I still feel a player of the Argentine national team. I'm certainly not Pekerman's kind of player,"
Zanetti commented after being omitted from the final squad.
With new coach Alfio Basile, Zanetti was called for a friendly match against France on 7 February 2007. He played brilliantly and helped Javier Saviola to score the only goal of the game that gave Argentina the first victory under Basile's second management. That same year, Zanetti was vice-captain of the Argentine Squad for the Copa América 2007, having previously appeared in the 1995, 1999 and the 2004 editions of the tournament.
In April 2007, Zanetti was presented with the National Giuseppe Prisco Award.Since the retirement of Ayala, Zanetti has been given the captain's armband. At a World Cup qualification match against Bolivia on 17 November 2007, he became the most capped player ever for Argentina.
Zanetti remained a regular under new coach Diego Maradona, although Liverpool defensive midfielder Javier Mascherano took over as captain at Maradona's request. Recently, however, Diego Maradona has failed to call Zanetti to the Argentina squad and he'll likely miss the 2010 World Cup.

Personal life

In 1992, Zanetti met his wife Paula and married after seven years of dating. They live near Lake Como, where they own a restaurant called "El Gaucho". Today, Paula Zanetti, daughter of a university teacher, works as a photographer. On 11 June 2005, she gave birth to a baby girl, Sol Zanetti. Javier Zanetti said, "I'm very happy about this baby girl who has come into my life. It was a beautiful experience with my wife. My daughter will have all the happiness she deserves."
Zanetti's elder brother Sergio is a former football defender. Javier Zanetti is not related to Cristiano Zanetti, an Italian who played alongside him for five seasons and is currently playing for Fiorentina.
In 2007, Zanetti collaborated with Italian singer Mina Mazzini in a Spanish cover of the song "Parole parole", found in the album Todavía.

Charity work
In 2005, the Milan townhall awarded Zanetti with the Ambrogino d'Oro for his social initiative. Zanetti is also the FIFA ambassador for the SOS Children's Villages project in Argentina, and has declared his support for the Mexican Zapatista rebels.

Fundación PUPI
Zanetti has also proven that he has a highly-developed social conscience. In response to Argentina's economic crisis of 2001, which threw millions of people into poverty, Zanetti, with his wife Paula, created the Fundación PUPI (PUPI foundation) in Argentina for the social integration of poor children. The aim of the organization is to help children by giving them educational opportunities, as well as taking care of their nutritional requirements who were left impoverished by the country's economic crisis.
"When I look back to my childhood, many concrete scenes come to my mind, good ones and bad ones. I had a difficult childhood, and even though I don't live in my country at present, I'm well aware of what's going on there and the devastating effect it's having on our poorest children. I've always believed that our public actions need to take account of our social responsibility,"
he explained.

Leoni di Potrero
Zanetti, along with his compatriot and current teammate at Inter, Esteban Cambiasso, unveiled this charity association to help coach young children with social isolation problems and motor coordination difficulties. Zanetti said, "Reminding those present that this spirit lies at the base of all of Inter's initiatives for youngsters."
"There must always be values at the heart of sport, and this is what we have to teach children."

Ascension of Christ

Ascension Day (in Switzerland and Liechtenstein: drive ) within the Christian faith, the return of Jesus Christ as the Son of God to His Father in heaven. Ascension is on the 40th Day of the Easter circle , ie 39 days after Easter Sunday celebration. Therefore, the festival falls always on a Thursday. The earliest possible date is 30 April, the latest possible the third June. In 2010, the holiday falls on the 13th May

Origin and Meaning

In the writings of the New Testament is in Luke 24.50-53 EUand Acts 1.1 to 11 EUshows that the Risen Christ during forty days after his resurrection before his disciples and was then in heaven on the place at the right hand raised was (the place right by the owner since ancient times belonged to the heir or the guest of honor). The Ascension is also mentioned in Mk 16,19 EU, 1 Pet 3,22 EU, Lift 4,14 EUand 9.24 EU, and - from a Christian perspective - P 68,19 EU.
The Ascension of Christ has great significance for the Christian eschatology . Him who humbles himself and has become obedient until death on the cross, God has increased all over and given him a name which is above every name ( Phil 2.8 to 9 EU).
The belief in the Assumption is early Christian texts and beliefs evidenced in, for example, Polycarp , Justin and Irenaeus of Lyons . The belief in the Assumption is also expressed in the old Roman Creed of the third century, the forerunner of the Apostles' Creed of 325 and the Nicene Creed of 381:
"He is on the third day he rose again
and ascended into heaven and .
is seated at the right hand of the Father
, and will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
his kingdom will be no end. "
The Solemnity of the Ascension of Christ in the liturgy of Jerusalem since 383 / 384 by the report of the pilgrim Egeria witnessed. According to Luke's texts is the date forty days after Easter and ten days before Pentecost.
The nine days between Ascension and Pentecost, the time of Pentecost , in particular, at the descent of the Holy Spirit is praying.
Three days prior to Ascension found in Catholic areas, the Rogation Days instead. On these days are called the processions take place. These processions to the fields of the municipalities or from place to place to serve the intercession of a good harvest.
In the Catholic tradition of the Baroque in some areas (eg in Bavaria, Mittenwald , or in Neustift Monastery in South Tyrol ), the statue of the Risen Christ's ascension through the " Holy Spirit holes on the Church of memory drawn.
Resurrection and Ascension

The ratio of the Resurrection and Ascension of Christ was and is the subject of theological debate. In traditional theology, there is a clear demarcation of Easter, on which the resurrection of Jesus Christ day after his death is celebrated on the third. Jesus rose after his crucifixion , first in an "in depth" localized beyond down ("descended into the realm of the dead", also see Jesus' descent into hell ), from the third day he rose again to the living on. The Ascension of Jesus to the later described the following event, that Jesus came into the hereafter own, without (again) die and leave behind a corpse without. This ascension, he got into an "on high" located on the other side (see heaven ). If we stick to the only concrete indication of time in the Bible, passed between the Resurrection and Ascension 40 days ( Acts 1,3.9 f LUT), although Luke 24,51 LUTAscension on Easter Day seems to suggest one. Therefore, Assumption is the feast of Christ days after Easter, celebrated 40th
Many theologians today reversed stress the commonality of resurrection and ascension. According to Conzelmann / Lindemann, there is no fundamental difference between resurrection and exaltation of Jesus: "The general rule is that Jesus 'resurrection, never as a mere revival of his body [...] has been understood, means the Easter event in Jesus' establishment of a unique dignity (cf. Rom 1.3 f LUT), so basically resurrection and exaltation at the same time. This is true even where, as in the hymn of Phil from 2.6 to 11 LUTonly on the increase, but not the resurrection of the talk is of, or conversely, where explicit statement is missing an increase (cf. 1 Cor 15.4 f. LUT). Although each case is the emphasis placed differ, but one fundamental difference is not. "[1]
"It was only later resurrection and exaltation ( Mary ) deliberately separated from each other, without it would come to a single view, however (after Luke 24,51 LUTwas the ascent to heaven on Easter Day, after Acts f. 1,3.9 LUTonly forty days later). [...] Will later distinguish between the actual Easter appearances on earth ( Luke 24 LUT, Acts 1 LUT), and the other appearances of Christ from heaven ( Acts 7.55 f. LUT; Acts 9.3 ff LUT). " [1]The fundamental event is the victory. God pulls his son out and up. This is a triumph over the powers of this world, a triumph of which all Christians have a share.
Iconography

In the early Christian catacomb is found ascension is not the motive. From the 4th Century, it unfolds in different ways to play:
Christ by angels borne aloft.
Christ walks into heaven and is from the hand of God put into reception.
Around 1000 is the guy on the disappearing Christ. Often leaving only the legs and feet together with the visible footprint, 14 from Century, only the footprints.
In the Catholic iconography of the Baroque comes the Typos "Ascension" in favor of the motif of the Assumption of Mary , and the glorification of other popular saint back a little.[2]
Holiday

The Feast of the Ascension is in the liturgy of the Catholic Church , the Orthodox Church and the Anglican Church as the Feast committed. In Germany there is also a public holiday since 1936.
