MQM to mourn for 10 days,
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced ten days of mourning over the killing of its leader, Dr. Imran Farooq; Altaf Hussain fainted in shock after hearing about the assassination of his close aid in London. Dr. Imran Farooq’s dead body will be brought to Karachi for burial.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s senior leader Doctor Imran Farooq was killed Thursday evening in Green Lane, Edgware, London.
The deceased leader's wife informed MQM's International Secretariat about her husband's death. Salim Shehzad and Raza Haroon, who were present at the Secretariat immediately rushed to the scene after receiving the phone call.
Information of Imran Farooq’s murder spread like wildfire - people rushed to the Secretariat.
As soon as media started to broadcast the news, local MQM workers, leaders and people began to gather at MQM's head office, Nine Zero, and the resident of the deceased leader.
Everyone is sad and mournful over the sudden assassination of their leader, Imran Farooq.
MQM Chief, Altaf Hussain fainted with shock over the untimely death of his close aid. He was crying and praying to God for patience. He canceled all proceedings for his birthday scheduled for today.
Prominent MQM leader, Salim Shehzad, termed Imran Farooq’s killing as very painful, confirming that he had been murdered outside his house. Prominent leader, Raza Haroon, who also resides in London said while talking to SAMAA that Dr. Imran Farooq’s services will be remembered forever.
Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, has expressed deep grief over the murder of MQM's prominent leader.
After clearance from London police and completion of necessary arrangements, Dr. Imran Farooq’s body will be brought to Karachi to be buried.
