The talk of Columbus, Ohio and Detroit, Michigan is not football. It is the marathons that are going on at both of these places. The 2010 Columbus Marathon is set to run on Sunday October 17. The Detroit Free Press Marathon is also suppose to run on Sunday October 17.
As with any marathon runners train for months before hand. Some professional marathon runners may train for years to be at the top of their stride. There are also professional marathon runners who will travel week after week to claim the prize money at most marathons. The Columbus Marathon 2010 & Detroit Free Press Marathon does not have the biggest prize money by any means.
You can still expect some professional runners at both of these marathons. This is the 33rd running of the Detroit Free Press Marathon and you can bet some of the runners were at the very first one. There is over 15,000 runners participating in the Columbus Marathon which makes it one of the biggest in the area.
