Flood relief Gossip

Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley and 90210’s Jessica Stroup were in attendance at a benefit for Pakistan’s flood victims at NYC’s Boom Boom Room.
The Gossip Girl actors and the Grammy-award winning recording artist John Legend attended the ‘A Lifeline in the Night: A Benefit for Pakistan Flood Relief’ on Monday night.
Penn’s Gossip Girl co-star Chace Crawford, along with SNL cast members Kristen Wiig and Seth Meyers, also came out to the benefit. Pakistani writer Mohsin Hamid was also present.
Celebrities from all over the world have contributed to flood relief efforts in Pakistan. Earlier last month, Hollywood star Angelina Jolie visited Pakistan to draw the world’s attention towards the plight of those affected. She also donated $100,000 to help those affected by the floods.
Meanwhile, Mike Shinoda, a member of rock band Linkin Park is helping through his Music for Relief (MFR) charity. MFR is teaming up with the UN Refugee Agency to serve 560,000 survivors and has pledged to match individual donations of up to $10,000. British musicians are lending a hand too.
Recently, ‘Superstars for flood relief,’ went live when the group behind it announced an international venture to raise funds for the 20 million people who have been affected by floods in Pakistan.
Celebrities in Pakistan have contributed to the relief efforts through celebrity camps and clothes sales, while some have made donations.
Celebrities continue to help out with the worst-ever natural disaster to hit Pakistan.
