NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) revealed a line-up of smartphones using its revamped Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system in the software giant's boldest move to remain a player in the increasingly competitive mobile business.

At an event in New York, Microsoft unveiled seven handsets planned for its global launch, including the Focus by Samsung Electronics Co. (SSNHY, 005930.SE), the Quantum by LG Electronics Inc. (066570.SE) and the Surround from HTC Corp. (HTCXF, 2498.TW), all of which will be priced at $199.99 with two-year service contracts with AT&T Inc.
