Ohio Defense Force

Southeastern Ohio Defense Force has reactivated their Security Platoon. Security Platoon Members staff security posts, provide direction to incoming personnel, and assist the Command Staff at SODF (ODF) functions. If you are interested in supporting the SODF but not able or wanting to push as hard as the Infantry units then the Security Platoon may be for you. Members of the platoon are still full members of the 1st Battalion, but with a different role. Security details are accomplished in a series of shifts with a Corporal of the Guard as the NCO and a Charge Officer on standby.
Members are required to work a specific shift but then are permitted leave in between, during this time they are also welcome to attend regular training sessions
Ohio-Thank you for your interest in the Northeast Ohio Defense Force. We are currently seeking volunteers to fulfill the mission of the Ohio Defense Force in 17 counties of Northeast Ohio. The mission of the Ohio Defense Force is to assist local and State governments, their agencies and law enforcement authorities in emergency situations; assist in the protection of local citizens in emergencies; and organize and train individuals to provide such assistance. Since 1989, the Ohio Defense Force has worked closely with local EMA, Police, Fire, Rescue, and Sheriff's Departments to provide high quality instruction to our members in Civil/Self Defense, Marksmanship, First Aid/CPR/AED, Survival, and Emergency Preparedness. We provide services such as Disaster response, Search and Rescue, Security Details, Inter-agency Training, and Public Seminars on local and state levels. Let it be said we are not here to replace any established organization. We provide man-power assistance and trained members, in the event that any organization is under-staffed and requires additional support to provide a larger response team. Using the Incident Command System we can universally assist first responders. There are three requirements to join the Ohio Defense Force: 1.) Must be 17 and older. 2.) Have reliable transportation. 3.) No felony convictions (background checks are conducted - CCW permit acceptable). There isn't any "Boot Camp" or physical conditioning, although members are expected to stay in good physical condition. We do not discriminate because of age, race, gender, faith or physical ability. Individuals who subscribe to racist or exclusive ideologies do not reflect the standards and mission of Ohio Defense Force and need not apply. Those from Geauga County who may be interested in joining the Ohio Defense Force may contact me at 440-487-8125 or musketodf3a@yahoo.com. From other counties, contact NEODF@msn.com or call 330-424-0329. For more information please check out the 3rd Battalion's website at www.neodf.org.
