How were your ACT scores? Probably not like Charles Wolock’s. Wolock just made his college application process a bit easier: He scored perfectly on both the SAT and ACT, said KansasCity.com.
Wolock, of Blue Valley North high school in Kansas, received 36 ACT score and a 2400 SAT score. Perfect ACT scores and SAT scores are rare achievements.
The ACT is usually administered during students’ junior year of high school, although they may choose to take it multiple times after. Most colleges require either an ACT or SAT score to help them gauge an applicant’s academic level. Students are required to take the ACT in Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee and Wyoming.
The state with the highest ACT scores in 2010 was Minnesota, with an average composite score of 22.9, according to the Minnesota Office of Higher Education. Iowa and Wisconsin follow closely with 22.2 and 22.1, respectively.
Wolock’s score has put him in the top one percent of college test-takers in the nation.
“Blue Valley North is very proud of Charlie. His success on these two exams is the culmination of 12 years of hard work and countless hours of studying,” said Tonya Merrigan, Blue Valley North principal.
