A Hussainia is a congregation hall for Shia ritual ceremonies, especially those associated with the Remembrance of Muharram. The name comes from Husayn Ibn Ali, the grandson of Muhammad and an Imam of the Shia. Hussain was killed by Yazid I in Karbala, Iraq, over 1,300 years ago. Shias still mourn the death of Hussain every year on the day of Ashura in Hussainias all over the world.
A Hussainiya is different from a mosque in that it is made mainly for gatherings for Muharram in the mourning of Hussain ibn Ali, and may not necessarily hold prayer in jumaa'at or Friday Prayer unless there is a gathering at the same time, where they would make a jumaa'at the time of prayer.
In South Asia, a Hussainia can also be referred to as an "imambara", "imambargah", or "ashurkhana". In Bahrain it is called a "ma'tam" (مأتم). In Afghanistan and Central Asia, the equivalent term for a Shia congregation hall is "takyakhana." Some examples of Hussainias are the Bara Imambara and Imambara Ghufran Ma'ab, both in Lucknow, Imambara Wazeer Un Nisa in Amroha, India (Details of the Imambara), and Hosseiniye Ershad in Tehran, Iran.

After the death of syed akber ali shah his sons syed Ashiq hussain Naqvi and syed shabbir hussain naqvi advocat took over as social and religious heads of family. Syed Shabbir Hussain Naqvi strugeled a lot to unite all shia Muslims of the country under the leadership of Allama Mufti Jafar Hussain and formed first shia political party of Pakistan tehreek e nafaz e fiqh jafaria (TNFJ). The first constitutional meeting of TNFJ was held at Imambargah Haveli Saddat. Imambargah Bait Aal e Imran (Kotla Arab Ali Khan, Gujrat, Pakistan) The place where the Imam Barga Bait e Aal e Imran (sa) is, was alloted by Choudhary Ghulam Hassan and his Wife in 1979. Chaudhary Ghulam Hassan was Shia by birth, his wife got sick and called Syed Aulad Hussain Shah & Sain Rehmat Ali Butt and asked them “As you know we have donated some land for ImamBargah and Shia Graveyard,
Now I am badly sick and going to die soon, I have some jewelry please take this and construct the walls of Imambarga”
Syed Aulad Hussain, Sain Rehmat Ali, Syed Riaz Hussain Shah (late) sold the jewelry and put some money from their side and constructed the walls of Imambarga. The mulla of that time got the information that Shiaz have build their Imambarga and going to held Majalis, so they went against Sain Rehmat and complained to police about that. The SHO of that time called Sain Rehmat and threaten him and offered him to shift the Imambarga some other place but the refused. Due to some controversy the 1st Majlis E Hussain(sa) was offered in Kakrali where some momneen were living. After that sain rehmat fixed the date of 30th Moharam for Majlis and withheld the first Majlis almost 30 years ago in Imambarga. Then some other Momneen came to Kolta Arab Ali Khan like Syed Riaz Hussain Shah, Syed Younas Ali Shah, Ustad Ghulam Asghar.

At present a lot of momneen are living in Kotla Arab Ali Khan and surroundings and offering 5 Majalis every year (13th Moharram, 30th Moharam, 12th Safar, 18th Safar 24th Safar) in Imam Barga Bait e Aal e Imran (sa). No doubt other Sunni Muslim who lives in Mohalla Jafri are also cooperating with Shia Muslims and attending Majalis E Hussain(sa).
