December 4, 2004 (West Lafayette, IN) – The Mayors of Lafayette and West Lafayette IN along with Purdue University official joined with the Home of Purdue Convention & Visitors Bureau to announce this Big Ten community’s first ever Half Marathon October 24, 2010 entitled the Home of Purdue Half Marathon. Joining them as founding partners are Arni’s Restaurants, Subaru, Cook Medical, Tri-n-Run, Miller MGD-64, WASK-FM and The Journal Courier.

Featuring a Half Marathon, 5K and Fun Run, the weekend will also include a 50+ vendor “Health & Fitness Expo” hosted by Subaru, whose largest North American manufacturing facility is based in the Lafayette area. The event will also feature a “Purdue Alumni Division” and the “Boilermaker Cup” competition with the graduating class with the largest number of participants earning the Cup which will be housed at the Purdue Alumni Center.
