Starting in Stra, the Venice Marathon runs through various towns, past the Venetian bridges and arrives at Venice's Riva dei Sette Martiri. €15,000 money prize, an Exposport, a three-kilometre run for children and a pasta party complement the marathon.
A new route in 2010 sees the marathon run through one of Venice's most famous landmarks, St Mark's Square, before arriving at the finishing line.
